I loved this suspenseful, action-packed novel by Susan Sleeman. She throws in the unexpected when someone attacks her heroine, FBI Special Agent Addison Leigh. Addison runs off the road and crashes, leaving her with no memory of her investigation, her co-workers, or her estranged husband, Deputy U.S. Marshal Mack Jordan. Mack receives a call about Addison’s wreck. He leaves the case he’s working on in the hands of his co-workers to be by her side and protect her. He’s never quit loving her, but PTSD from his military days forced him to distance himself for her own protection. He longs…

With Easter upon us, what a better time to reflect on the life, death, and resurrection of Christ? Can you imagine what it was like for the disciples as they sat around the table visiting with Jesus and their shock when he said one would betray Him and another would deny him? Several years ago, I imagined the disciples sitting around the table laughing, talking, eating, and having an enjoyable evening with Jesus. In my twentieth-century mind, I could see Jesus stand up and tap his spoon against a glass to get everyone’s attention. All heads turned his direction as…

Unknown Threat packs a punch as the action intensifies throughout the novel. The characters in this story are well-rounded and realistic. The author cleverly crafted the plot twists. Kudos to Lynn Blackburn for a job well done. Faith Malone, an FBI Special Agent, is assigned to take charge of a top-priority investigation where US Secret Service Agents are under attack, including the handsome Secret Service Special Agent Luke Powell. Luke isn’t happy about teaming up with the FBI. In fact, he detests them and doesn’t want to have anything to do with the organization. In his eyes, Faith isn’t qualified…

Life is full of busyness. No one has time for themselves. What does it all mean, anyway? Slow down, take a moment… hit the pause button. Chris Maxwell, www.chrismaxwell.me, a friend of mine, has written several pausing books. Why? Because without a pause, we flutter through life being who we think everyone wants us to be or trying to be someone we’re not or because we don’t think we have the time to be still. In Chris’s book, Pause for Moms: Finding Rest in a too Busy World, I wrote a few paragraphs about my treadmill life. Like a hamster…

This cleverly crafted novel is full of action and suspense. The excellent pacing and increased tension ramp up the intensity which keeps the reader turning the page. Unexpectedly, an intruder on the property shoots at her. She scrambles for safety under the porch and calls for help. I’m excited to have Darlene L. Turner on my blog today sharing about Trusting in God’s Sovereignty and announcing her upcoming release Abducted in Alaska. Welcome, Darlene, and congratulations on your new novel! Here’s Darlene . . . Trusting in God’s Sovereignty Jigsaw puzzles seem to be the rage lately. Do you remember doing them as kids? Placing each piece in its specific spot was fun . . . until you either couldn’t figure out how one fit—or heaven forbid—you lost a piece. Then everything changed. It wasn’t fun anymore. More like frustrating. This got me thinking about life and…

When we look at the world nowadays, life seems out of control. People argue and demean the integrity of others, disregard the value of respect, and disown us if our opinions differ from theirs. With the continuous threat of COVID-19 and the controversies over political issues, protecting the values of home and family may get lost among the chaos. We get caught up in the uncertainties of truth in the news, slander on social media, and an overall disregard for authority. These traits may have been around for years, but maybe I’ve finally reached the age to take notice and…

Despite the virus threats, our family gathered for a fabulous Thanksgiving meal together. Of course, we all chipped in and prepared a dish. As with every holiday gathering, we overate and enjoyed every bite. After clearing the table, all the ladies sat and sorted through the Black Friday sales ads. We cut coupons, make our lists, mapped out our course, and headed home. Five o’clock in the morning would arrive early, but, hey, we’d make the doorbuster sales. By four o’clock I was up, dressed in our matching Christmas T-shirts and matching Christmas face masks, and sipping on my liquid…
