I wanted to share this poem written by my thirteen year old grandson, Dylan. Who knew he could write at this depth? Who knew he could write at all? Check it out:
UNFINISHED
Born with my key and an unfulfilled dream
He has set for me the clear unsolved mystery
Miracle inside the clouds and above little rocks
A man on a mission no challenges on his clock
In a world with not yet complete restoration
But backwards turns in a box of his creation
A mistake be never made
But a fallen angel still living in fear
Wipe these tears clean
Let the blind man see
Problems and mistakes be made
Like the content of Biblical studies is gone
Under a perfection this planet surpasses very easily
A whistle in my wind
A grace in his power
And a first time position
In poem and in this quest
I don’t expect to impress
But share would like to
See a dazzle in His presence
Gives me peace and builds our protection
And ending with this remember I’m doing this for Him.
Of course I’m a proud grandma. I have a granddaughter, Brandyce, who writes poetry and skits. She too, is very gifted.
When your child or grandchild shows an interest in reading or writing, encourage them to develop their gifts. Who knows? One of them may be the next Edgar Allan Poe or Jerry B Jenkins.

Awesome poem by your grandson! That’s so neat he’s picked up his pen that young. Very talented!
Loretta Eidson says
Thank you Darlene. His school teacher told my daughter that she needed to read his journal they do in class. She said she specifically looks forward to reading his entries.

DiAnn, I’m discovering writing talents in several of my grandchildren. I’ll bet you will too. It makes a grandma proud. Ha!
