I appreciate good, clean love stories. Stories where the girl meets the guy, they fall in love and live happily ever after. Stories like: You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle and Hope Floats.
We laugh and cry with the couple as they go through misunderstandings, and from the comfort of our sofas, we try to help them make the right decisions.
Watching these movies may make us feel happy that everything turned out like it was supposed to, but how often does it leave us feeling a bit dejected? How many times have we wished we could be loved and feel our lives are as complete as the characters in the movie appear to be?
Do love stories like these really happen? They can, it just depends on how we view life, our willingness to work together to perfect the relationship, and the decisions we make. Every relationship has a story, why not make it a love story?
Where can we find the most amazing love story—EVER?
The Bible. Seriously!
It’s full of love stories. Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Jacob and Rachel, Ruth and Boaz, and others, including the most important couple—Mary and Joseph.
The Bible is a book filled with life events that involve emotions, action, pain, hurt, rejection, deliverance, happiness, joy, laughter, liveliness, acceptance, etc., and it is chocked full of love.
The Bible is perfect in every way. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Only, in the end, those who have surrendered their lives to Christ will live forgiven and joyously happy forever.
The Bible is a roadmap for living a love-filled life. We can learn how to find peace during trials, how to forgive others, how to give and receive, how to love when we don’t feel like loving, and much more.
What’s even better is that God loves us unconditionally. Who else could write a book of this magnitude that breathes life into our hearts while explaining and giving examples of how to love and be loved?
How awesome is that?
The Bible is not a novel or a piece of fiction. The Bible is the inspired, living Word of God.
I challenge you to read your Bible and fall in love with love Himself—God! Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so you can experience His perfect love.
Do you like love stories? I met my husband while cooking hamburgers on the grill when I lived in an apartment complex. We had a crazy beginning, challenging middle, and now live our days laughing, loving, and sharing God’s goodness with each other, In the beginning, it was a cheeseburger that brought our romance together.
What’s your love story?
