Somewhere deep inside, a longing to write stories that might touch the hearts of readers wells up and won’t go away. This desire holds a passion to develop characters who can usher God’s love to others in a non-threatening and non-preachy manner.
Whether through historical, women’s fiction, suspense, thrillers, or whatever the genre, inspirational stories can stir the true Breath of Life into the depths of a well-designed plot. The hero and heroine are free to discover life happens through their adventures, and there is hope for the future, even in the real world, outside of fiction. God is our Hope.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.
Stories, whether fiction or nonfiction, can offer God’s truth in different layers. While some may prefer the in-your-face approach, others find answers by reading books that allow time to ponder the facts as the story unfolds. Then, there are those who prefer a subtle hint of how God intervenes on behalf of His children, whether fictional characters or actual humans when they call out to Him.
*Is writing continually on your mind?
*Do you question God about writing?
*Are you drawn to your keyboard even when you doubt yourself?
*Have you said more than once that you want to write a story?
*Have you questioned what others will think of you if you share your story?
Regardless of all the uncertainties scrambling through your mind, You Are God’s Masterpiece, and only you can write what’s on your heart. You are your own person, and the decision to follow His call rests in your hands.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV.
Writing takes time, courage, and vulnerability.
Writing requires following rules and guidelines.
Writing is hard but rewarding when you follow through.
Remember, He is the Potter, and we are the clay. You become His writing masterpiece when you succumb to His plans and purposes for your life.
As the old saying goes, God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the call.
My writing journey began over twelve years ago. What I share with you, my readers, is from personal experience.
