It was a joy to delve into this novel about Lou’s adventures in Alaska. In Lou’s point of view, the author wrote in first person and did well digging into Lou’s thoughts and sharing her concerns. Lou’s hesitation in uprooting her two small children from their beautiful, comfy home in Michigan and moving to a rough, challenging rural area in Alaska is justifiable and easy to understand.
The love of family shines through as Lou and her husband Roy grow in their faith in God and seek guidance from Him for their future. They face some difficulties, but the most intense part is the bear scene, and for that, you’ll have to read the book.
